Zimbabwe Market Watch | 20th July 2015: Zimbabwe equities open the week in red …. ZSE industrial index down -0.02 points, mining still on a flat line…
Harare, Zimbabwe (Capital Markets in Africa):-The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) Industrial Index closed trading in the red zone today. The industrial index fell by -0.01% or -0.02 points to end at 143.47 down from 143.56 points recorded at close last week (-11.86% year-to-date and -22.83% year-on-year basis). The mining index however, remained flat with no movement (0.00%) to close at 40.09 points the same as it its close last week (taking year-to-date to -44.09% and year-on-year return to -30.67% respectively).
The market capitalization ended at US$ 3.765 billion while the market activity was lower today with a turnover of US$ 0.610 million (relative to US$0.323 million recorded at last weeks trading sessions) exchanged across 60 traded securities via 53 trade transactions.
In terms of Foreign Buys and Sales, Foreign investors bought US$208,314 up from the US$139,212 bought last week and foreign sells came to US$193,500 (up from the US$105,491) at the end of today’s trading sessions.
In terms of Volumes and value of trades, out of the 60 securities traded, Mashonaland Holdings Ltd recorded the highest volumes today trading 1,524,330 of it’s securities at US$2.02 per share. Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited recorded 382,380 at US$33.00 to end up with a value of US$126,152. Likewise, Delta Corporation Ltd registered 211,361 traded stocks at US$ 35.00 per share with a value of US$204,492 and CBZ Holdings Ltd recorded 170,165 trades valued at US$17,964. TRUWORTHS moved 133,474 securities valued at US$1,335 while Barclays Bank Zimbabwe Ltd sold 184,113 at a value of US$4,853.
On the market price advancers and decliners, five securities ended in the green region and two ended in the red region. In the green district were Innscor Africa Ltd which surged by 0.71 points (+1.16%) to trade at US$61.50 cents and Mashonaland Holdings Ltd advanced by 0.02 points (+1.00%) to close at US$2.02 cents. Likewise, Old Mutual Plc gained by 0.25 points (+0.09%) to end at US$274.25 cents, Proplastics Ltd increased by 0.08 points (+3.96%) to end at US$2.10 and Seed Co Ltd surged by 0.77 points (+0.78%) at US$99.23 cents.
Conversely, in the red were Nampak Zimbabwe Limited (down -1.50 cents at US$2.80 cents) and Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Ltd decreased by 0.17 points (-5.17%) to trade at US$33.00 cents.
